The Officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco join me in extending our warmest felicitations to the Basaynon Katig-uban USA & Canada on the occasion of the annual town fiesta of Basey, Samar honoring its patron saint, Saint Michael, The Archangel.
The fiesta is a cherished icon of Filipino tradition. It is a celebration of fellowship, camaraderie and community. Above all, it is a celebration of life as it allows the members of the organization from all over the United States and Canada, especially the youth, to experience the richness and diversity of our culture and heritage.
I commend the officers and members of the Basaynon Katig-uban USA & Canada for carrying on this devotion to Saint Michael, the Archangel in the spirit of community and thanksgiving as embodied in the fiesta and urge everyone to continue working together in showcasing the best in the Filipino.
